Alex Monk Psychotherapist E8

Alex Monk Therapy in London

I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist and art therapist with a private practice in Hackney, East London and online.

psychotherapy

In my psychotherapy practice I provide a confidential therapeutic space where I will carefully listen to help you identify the issues that are troubling you so that they can be thought about and made sense of. This process can provide a sense of relief that an emotional weight has been lifted.

Working through what troubles you in psychotherapy/ and or art therapy enables the unbearable to be reflected upon, with gentle curiosity rather than unhelpful criticism. This process awakens the imagination, and, in turn, fosters an inner compassion that lends itself to a more creative and fulfilling life. When you begin a course of psychotherapy you may feel that you have lost touch with your inner resources. Psychotherapy can enable you to access these once again along with new perspectives on your relationship to yourself and others.

ABOUT ME

I am a full clinical member of the UKCP as psychotherapist and HCPC as a registered art therapist. I am also a member of The Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education. I adhere to the ethical principles of the UKCP.

I have also published a book regarding trauma and its relationship to repeated patterns of emotional difficulty and personal misfortune which I have called “the curse position”.
